 deas Worth\nSpreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 25 y
 ears\nago\, TED has grown to support those world-changing ideas with\nmult
 iple initiatives. The annual TED Conference invites the world's\nleading t
 hinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes. Their talks are\nthen made avai
 lable\, free\, at TED.com. TED speakers have included\nBill Gates\, Al Gor
 e\, Jane Goodall\, Elizabeth Gilbert\, Sir Richard\nBranson\, Nandan Nilek
 ani\,Philippe Starck\, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala\,\nIsabel Allende and UK Prime 
 Minister Gordon Brown. The annual TED\nConference takes place in Long Beac
 h\, California\, with simulcast in\nPalm Springs\; TEDGlobal is held each 
 year in Oxford\, UK. TED's\nmedia initiatives include TED.com\, where new 
 TEDTalks are posted\ndaily\, and the Open Translation Project\, which prov
 ides subtitles\nand interactive transcripts as well as the ability for any
  TEDTalk\nto be translated by volunteers worldwide. TED has established th
 e\nannual TED Prize\, where exceptional individuals with a wish to\nchange
  the world are given the opportunity to put their wishes into\naction\; TE
 Dx\, which offers individuals or groups a way to host\nlocal\, self-organi
 zed events around the world\, and the TEDFellows\nprogram\, helping world-
 changing innovators from around the globe to\nbecome part of the TED commu
 nity and\, with its help\, amplify the\nimpact of their remarkable project
