 f Reception). He was awarded a Leverhulme Major\nResearch Fellowship to wr
 ite a monograph Latin Poetry and the\nJudgement of Taste arguing for the i
 mportance of beauty and the\naesthetic in our response to the arts. Martin
 dale’s work thus\ncovers Classics\, English\, Comparative Literature\, Cri
 tical Theory\,\nand Aesthetics\; other concerns include translation and tr
 anslation\ntheory\, autobiographical writing and the personal voice\, and
 \ntheories of reading and criticism.\nPublic invited.\n
