McGill Society of Montreal presents "Port Wine Tasting: Is there any Port Wine Left?"

Tuesday, January 27, 2009 18:30
1430 Peel Street, 1430 Peel Street, CA

Come join fellow alumni for a fun-filled tasting evening. Montreal wine specialist and McGill alumni Alexandre Jipa, BEng’88, will help us unravel the mysteries of Port wine.

The history and different categories of Port wine, as well as basic wine tasting techniques will be the main topics of discussion. He’ll guide us through the various categories and styles of this delicious, yet often misunderstood product. Four different wines will be served, each accompanied by a specially chosen snack. Reserve early as space is limited.

Alexandre Jipa is an aerospace professional and a wine consultant. He has been involved in the world of wine for the last 20 years. He started out with wine appreciation and wine tasting technique courses at the University of Montreal and then undertook a series of vineyard tours in Europe and California. He has been offering wine consulting services since 1995. His current activities include assisting restaurants to improve their wine selections, teaching a wine appreciation course, organizing thematic wine tastings, and lecturing at corporate events.
