  workshop is a hands-on exploration of Unix systems through four progressi
 ve modules. From foundational insights into system structure and terminal 
 communication to text processing and bash scripting\, each module builds o
 n the previous one with practical examples. The workshop concludes with a 
 comprehensive review of the content\, contextualized in terms of high-perf
 ormance computing systems.   At the end of this workshop\, participants wi
 ll:- Understand the core structure of the Unix operating system.- Navigate
  the Unix terminal efficiently and perform basic file operations.- Acquire
  basic text processing skills using the terminal.- Gain insights into the 
 applications and benefits of high-performance computing.- Learn how to con
 nect to a server and understand the fundamentals of job scheduling.   Prer
 equisites:- Access to a Unix terminal- No previous programming experience 
 needed  IMPORTANT NOTICE: Attendance for McGill graduate students and post
 doctoral fellows is subsidized by Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. All o
 ther attendees such as undergraduate students\, interns and/or graduate st
 udents from other institutions are required to purchase a ticket to cover 
 organizational and staffing costs. To complete your registration\, you mus
