MONA NEMER\, PhD\, C.M.\, C.Q.\, FRSC\,  Chief Science Advisor of Canada \n\nProf. Mona Nemer is an internationally acclaimed scientist and science policy leader who has been serving as Canada’s Chief Science Advisor sinc e September 2017. She has provided science advice on numerous issues rangi ng from research infrastructure to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prof. Nemer has promoted open and responsible use of science in government through the cre ation of a model policy on scientific integrity and a roadmap for open sci ence.\n\nProf. Nemer has served on various national and international advi sory committees and boards and is presently the Chair of the International Pandemic Preparedness Secretariat (IPPS) which promotes the 100 Days Miss ion for pandemic preparedness. Prof. Nemer has represented Canada in inter national science forums\, is a globally recognized champion of Canadian sc ience\, and is the recipient of many national and international academic a nd civilian honours.\n\nPrior to this role\, Prof. Nemer was Professor and Vice-President of Research at the University of Ottawa and Director of th e school’s Molecular Genetics and Cardiac Regeneration Laboratory.\n\nProf . Nemer holds a PhD in Chemistry from McGill University and has done post- doctoral training in molecular biology at the Montréal Clinical Research I nstitute and Columbia University. Elle est actuellement présidente du Secrétariat intern ational pour la préparation aux pandémies (International Pandemic Prepared ness Secretariat – IPPS)\, qui promeut la Mission des 100 jours pour la pr éparation aux pandémies. La professeure Nemer a représenté le Canada dans des forums scientifiques internationaux\, est une ardente porte-parole mon dialement reconnue de la science canadienne et elle a reçu de nombreuses d istinctions universitaires et civiles nationales et internationales.\n\nAv ant d’occuper ce poste\, la professeure Nemer était professeure et vice-re ctrice à la recherche à l’Université d’Ottawa\, ainsi que directrice du la boratoire de génétique moléculaire et de régénération cardiaque de l’unive rsité.\n\nLa professeure Nemer détient un doctorat en chimie de l’Universi té McGill et a suivi une formation postdoctorale en biologie moléculaire à l’Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal et à l’Université Columbia .
