New Appointment for ECP's Prof. Marie-Hélène Pennestri

On March 20, 2026, it was announced that Professor Marie-Hélène Pennestri will be appointed as McGill's new Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and Associate Provost (Graduate Education). The McGill University Board of Governors approved both appointments at its meeting on March 19, 2026 and her five-year term will begin on July 1, 2026.

Prof. Pennestri is an Associate Professor in McGill’s Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, a Canada Research Chair Tier 2 in Pediatric Sleep and Director of the Once Upon a Night sleep laboratory. She previously served as the Faculty of Education’s Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Studies, and is a past recipient of the Faculty’s Distinguished Teaching Award.
