  of Colorectal Surgery Research at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center\, where he 
 holds the Shirley\, Jesslyne\, and Emmeline Widjaja Chair in Colorectal Su
 rgery.\n	With over 25 years of experience in colorectal surgery\, Dr. Flesh
 ner has established himself as a leader in the field. He has delivered num
 erous invited and state-of-the-art lectures and has served on expert panel
 s at major national and international meetings\, including those of the Am
 erican Gastroenterological Association and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundat
 ion.\n	\n	Dr. Fleshner has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed publications
  in leading journals such as Annals of Surgery\, Journal of the American C
 ollege of Surgeons\, Diseases of the Colon and Rectum\, Gut\, and the Amer
 ican Journal of Surgery. His research focuses on multidisciplinary approac
 hes to optimizing perioperative care\, particularly in patients with infla
 mmatory bowel disease (IBD). His work has advanced understanding of phenot
 ypic stratification in Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis\, linking th
 ese subgroups to surgical outcomes and informing tailored perioperative ma
 nagement strategies.\n	\n	His additional research interests include improvin
 g surgical outcomes in IBD and evaluating the impact of perioperative immu
 nosuppression on postoperative results.\n	\n	Dr. Fleshner earned his undergr
 aduate degree from McGill University and his medical degree from the Alber
 t Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his General Surgery residency
  at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York and a fellowship in Colorectal 
 Surgery at the Lahey Clinic in Boston.\n	\n	In 2021\, he was awarded the She
 rman Prize for Excellence in Crohn’s and Colitis in recognition of his sig
