DESCRIPTION:\n\n \n\n \n\nAn evening of documentary storytelling at Cinéma
du Parc\n\nJoin us for the opening event of the Annual Grand Challenge at
Cinéma du Parc—an evening of powerful short documentary films that bring t
he human realities of climate change to the screen. Through intimate journ
alism and storytelling\, these films center lived experiences and voices t
hat are too often left out of the climate conversation.\n\nThe Sustainable
Growth Initiative is proud to be hosting two Canadian journalists\, Leila
Beaudoin and Maxime Corneau\, whose work brings audiences to the frontlin
es of environmental transformation in Canada’s coastal communities. Each s
hort film will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker\, offering space fo
 r reflection and discussion.\n\nDate: March 17\, 2026\n	Time: 5:30–7:30 PM
\n	Location: Cinéma du Parc 3575\, avenue du Parc – suite 6100\n\nReserve y
 our seat now\n\nSpots are limited.\n\n\n	\n	Featured Films & Speakers\n	\n	Lei
la Beaudoin\n\n	All Eyes on the Water\n\n	“All Eyes On the Water” explores t
he threats that storm surges pose to the people\, culture\, and infrastruc
ture of Western and Northern Newfoundland. As sea levels rise and storms i
ntensify\, it’s not just the fishery and the livelihoods of the people tha
t are at stake\, but also the rich cultural heritage of these coastal comm
unities.\n\n	Leila Beaudoin left the daily newsbeat to live by the sea. She
returned to her coastal home post-pandemic to focus on climate change\, o
ceans\, and fisheries. Her work is told through rural witnesses\, coastal
communities\, and nature.\n\n	She lives in a tiny home on the Northwest Atl
antic. When she’s not there she’s working with CBC Newfoundland and Labrad
 or.\n\n	 \n	\n	Maxime Corneau\n\n	TUKTOYAKTUK : Où aller quand l’océan nous en
gloutit ?\n\n	Set in the Arctic community of Tuktoyaktuk\, this film explor
es the urgent question of displacement as rising seas and erosion threaten
homes\, infrastructure\, and ways of life.\n\n	Maxime Corneau is a journal
ist at Radio-Canada since 2010. He covers environmental issues with a focu
s on the lived experiences of the people behind the headlines.\n\n\n\n\n
