DESCRIPTION:An Open Discussion on Building Next-Generation Large-Scale Brai
 n Models\n\nBy Chris Eliasmith\n\nUniversity of Waterloo\n\nDate: June 26\
 , 2025\n	Time: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM\n	Location: Online\n\nAttend online\n\nVie
w poster\n\n\nAbstract\n\nMy lab is starting to build the next generation
of our large-scale brain model\, called Spaun 3.0. In this talk I will out
line key methods we intend to use\, why we intend to use them\, and our ov
erarching goals for this model. My main goal with the talk is to start a c
onversation about what is most compelling to include in such a model. What
kinds of behaviours and tasks would have the biggest impact and provide t
he most interesting comparisons to neural data? What kinds of challenges a
re outstanding for large-scale brain modeling and what would count as addr
essing them? Ideally this conversation will guide our work and make the re
 sult broadly useful.\n
