McGill’s Global Initiative

By Anja Geitmann

McGill University downtown campus in the fallMcGill University has long enjoyed a significant international reputation. In 2024, the University created the office of Vice-President (Global Engagement).

The first draft of the University’s Global Engagement Strategy, 2025-2030, identified five “pillars” for future activities: International Research, Global Mobility, Alumni Engagement, International Partnerships, and Transnational Education.

Following extensive consultation within the McGill community, a final draft will soon appear, with implementation beginning in 2026. Several initiatives are already underway.
