DESCRIPTION:Session Goals:\n	Upon completion of this session the participant

  importance of authentic\, work-based (‘point of care’) assessment in CBE
 \n	Recognize that ‘assessment drives learning’ and how aligning objectives\
 , educational programs and assessments functions to optimize learning\n \n
 \nFarhan Bhanji\, is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Critical Care) 
 at McGill\, a CanMEDS Clinician Educator and the Associate Director of Ass
 essment at the Royal College - where he supports the delivery of examinati
 ons in 68 specialties. He serves as the interprofessional lead for Simulat
 ion at the Montreal Children’s Hospital\, serves as the education lead in 
 Resuscitation for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada\, is the immed
 iate past Chair of the Education Committee for Emergency Cardiovascular Ca
 re at the American Heart Association and is the co-chair of the Education\
 , Implementation and Teams taskforce of International Liaison Committee on
  Resuscitation. Dr. Bhanji is also an active researcher with 125 peer revi
 ewed abstracts and manuscript publications.Claire Touchie\, MD\, MHPE\, FR
 CPC\, completed her MD and her internal medicine training at McGill Univer
 sity. Following further training in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microb
 iology\, she accepted a position at Dalhousie University (1996-2000) where
  her interest in Medical Education began. In June of 2000\, she moved to t
 he University of Ottawa where she is now an Associate Professor of Medicin
 e. Her focus is on Medical Education and the care of patients with HIV inf
 ection. Since  January 2012\, Dr. Touchie is the Chief Medical Education A
 dvisor at the Medical Council of Canada and is presently the co-lead for t
 he MCC’s Blueprint project which is transforming both the MCC Qualifying E
 xamination Part I and Part II. She is also co-leading the AFMC EPA working
  group. Her involvement in faculty development includes leading the CAME c
 ourse Principles of Assessment for the Continuum of Clinical Competence an
 d as a past faculty member for CLIME. Her medical education research inter
 ests include various aspects of student and resident training\, written an
 d performance assessments\, entrustable professional activities and feedba
 ck.\n
