 a Gómez obtained her PhD degree in Microbiology and Immunology at McGill U
 niversity and conducted postdoctoral training in CIDEIM\, Colombia in huma
 n leishmaniasis.  She is currently the Coordinator of the Molecular Biolog
 y and Biochemistry Unit at CIDEIM. Through inquiry of the Leishmania-host 
 interactions\, her current research aims to understand the molecular basis
  of antileishmanial treatment response in patients with cutaneous leishman
 iasis\,  towards identification of biomarkers of outcome and host-directed
  interventions for optimization of antileishmanial therapy.\n
