  the Department of Family Medicine. From a handful of graduates some 40 ye
 ars ago\, Family Medicine is now the biggest department within the l Facul
 ty of Medicine. We are involved in the training of medical students\, 200 
 medical residents\, 46 graduate students at the M.Sc. and PhD level\, over
  $35 million in research grants\, and numerous other activities in deliver
 ing primary care across Quebec and Canada\, as well as internationally. Fa
 mily Medicine is now also a critical focus of the new undergraduate medica
 l curriculum\, and primary care/family medicine is a major priority of the
  provincial government.\n\nTo celebrate our 40th anniversary\, the McGill 
 Family Medicine Department will host a Homecoming Gala\, on May 5th\, 2016
 . Join us at the Musée des Beaux Arts for an evening of fine dining\, art\
 , music and more! \n\nThe aim of the gala is not only to thank all of our 
 teachers\, residents\, students and employees of the past 40 years\, who h
 ave helped us making our department and primary care what they are today\,
  but also to create an official alumni community of friends and supporters
  of the program\, that will allow networking to take place: the « McGill F
