Social Entrepreneurship Workshop: Designing your career, your enterprise, and your impact

Published: 19 November 2015

On November 13, 2015, the Marcel Desautels Institute for Integrated Management (MDIIM) and the Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship co-sponsored a half-day workshop on social entrepreneurship. Entitled “Social Entrepreneurship: Designing your career, your enterprise, and your impact”, the event featured a broad range of attendees – from those new to the concept of entrepreneurship to established entrepreneurs.

Scaled Purpose, an agency driven to scale the social and environmental impact of social purpose organizations, led and facilitated the workshop. Participants were introduced to the basic concepts of social entrepreneurship - including ideation, model testing, accessing resources, and forming strategic partnerships – and were given the opportunity to explore a hands-on approach to moving from idea, to product, to launch with a design-thinking lens throughout.
