 Upcoming release of CIS-2008 Major Findings

Major findings from the 2008 cycle of the Canadian Incidence Study of Reported Child Abuse and Neglect (CIS-2008) will be released in Montreal on October 25th at the opening of the 2010 Congrès of the Association of youth centres of Québec (ACJQ) and the 9th annual Looking After Children conference. The presentation will focus on the major findings from the national study, including comparisons of incidence rates over the three cycles of the study. The presentation will officially mark the public launch of the CIS-2008 by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), in partnership with Provinces and Territories, First Nations partners and the CIS Research Team.

 

Campbell Collaboration News

The winners of the Campbell Collaboration’s Leonard E. Gibbs Award for the finest systematic review published in the area of social welfare in 2008-2009 are Geraldine Macdonald, Professor of Social Work at Queen's University Belfast, and William Turner, Lecturer at the School for Policy Studies, University of Bristol. They are awarded the prize for the review: Treatment Foster Care for improving outcomes in children and young people.
