McGill University's student-run Make-A-Wish Club has contributed $8,000 to the Make-A-Wish Quebec Foundation. Make-A-Wish Quebec grants wishes to create hope, strength and joy for children struggling with a life-threatening illness. The McGill club raised the money in different ways, including its annual five-kilometre Make-a-Move walkathon/runathon, which this year took place April 3 on the McGill campus and had more than 250 participants.

Other events included a comedy night and bake sales. The money was given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation during a visit on April 27 by outgoing McGill club president Alexandra Cooke, who was accompanied by the new co-presidents for the coming year, Jonathan Lam and Sophie Audant. Since it was founded in 1980, Make-A-Wish International has granted more than 250,000 wishes. Because of the efforts of the McGill club, a young girl name Chloe's wish to go to Disney World will be granted in the coming year.
