Mac prof will use grant to search for the 'holy grail'

A Hamilton theoretical physicist specializing in superconductivity has been awarded a prestigious Killam Research Fellowship. Catherine Kallin, a physics and astronomy professor at McMaster University, is one of six Canadian researchers who will share almost $1 million in grant money from the Canada Council for the Arts. Kallin said she will receive $70,000 annually for two years for dedicated research in "unconventional superconductivity." (…specifically, a superconductor called strontium ruthenate) … Other recipients included: Allan Greer and David Plant of McGill University and Mark Lautens, Jeremy Quastel and Sali Tagliamonte of the University of Toronto.
