Lecture

Published: 14 October 2004

Saturday's Beatty Memorial Lecture by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi has proven to be extremely popular with alumni, faculty, staff, students and the public. Because tickets for the main venue at the Mont-Royal Centre were gone a month before the event, Leacock 132 was set up as an overflow room, where the lecture will be shown live on a large screen via the web. There are still some tickets remaining for Leacock 132. They are available at the McGill Bookstore, third floor, special order desk; call 398-3657. Please note that while the lecture will be delivered in Farsi and there will be simultaneous translation into English and French, the live webcast will feature the English translation only.

Shirin Ebadi's Beatty Lecture is organized in conjunction with Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and the McGill Alumni Association as a homecoming "Ideas for the World" lecture. The lecture will take place on October 16, 2004, at 10 am. For more information about the lecture, contact Jennifer Towell, 398-8585. See the Beatty Lectures website for the URL for the webcast.
