Global - McGill Professor a ‘royal wedding junkie’

Published: 15 April 2011

Peter McNally is an award-winning professor at McGill University. But not only is he devoted to his work in the school’s Information Studies department, he has another life-long love. McNally, who came to Montreal for university when he was 18, is a self-proclaimed passionate palace watcher.

“Look at the people who are Vatican watchers or White House watchers or Parliament Hill watchers. Well, I'm a palace watcher,” he said. When it comes to commemorative palace paraphernalia, no matter what it is, McNally likely has it.

“I collect printed material books, printed ephemera, I collect commemorative objects, plates, magazines…” he said. In addition to the collectable items, certain events— namely royal weddings– are also his weakness. “What can I tell you, I'm a royal wedding junkie,” McNally said.
