Published: 1 March 2011

McGill BCom students put their case analysis and presentation skills to the test once again at the 7th annual Business Strategy Challenge (BSC 2011) at Georgetown University in Washington DC which took place from February 24 to 27.  After a morning preliminary round and a final round in the afternoon, the McGill team placed 1st overall out of a total of 20 competing universities.

McGill's team consisted of BCom students Julia Godolphin, Sumira Jayabalan, Annika Lewis and Lindsay Sullivan.  All had taken Richard Donovan's "Case Analysis and Presentation" class.  Prof. Donovan also acted as their adviser and accompanied the team to Washington.  Professors Angela Burlton and Suzanne Gagnon attended practice sessions and provided valuable feedback to the team.

The Business Strategy Challenge was created to further the mission of Hilltop Consultants, and of Georgetown University, to foster the growth of future business leaders who will serve our community. To that end, BSC only invites non-profit organizations to be competition clients. This year's case client was Agora Partnerships whose mission is to fight poverty and inequality by unleashing the potential of developing world entrepreneurs to improve their communities.
