Delivery of Library material to faculty with campus offices

Published: 20 March 2013

Recent surveys show that faculty want delivery of library materials to their campus offices as a basic service.

In response, McGill Library is introducing campus office delivery for Faculty, starting the week of March 18, 2013

Faculty members with a campus address that is served by McGill’s internal mail system may sign into their library account from the catalogue to request any item available for loan to be delivered to their campus address. If the requested item is available it will automatically generate a loan to the faculty member. An email advising the item is on its way will be sent, and the item can be expected to arrive within 2 to 4 days.

If the item is out to another user, when the item is returned, an email will be sent to the faculty member as soon as the item is on its way.

Library material borrowed through campus office delivery may be returned in the same manner, using the durable vinyl envelopes for this purpose. Materials may also be returned at any library branch, as usual.
