RGO procedure for submission using Electronic Approval via ResearchNet

STEP 1:
The Nominated PI must register by Monday, February 2, 2009 online using ResearchNet choosing carefully which “Institution Paid” will administer the funds:

CFAA:  McGill University (RGO)
CFAC:  Research Institute of the MUHC
CFAD:  Douglas Hospital Research Centre
CFAF:  Sir Mortimer B. Davis Jewish General Hospital (LDI)

STEP 2:
Researchers may request a full budgetary and administrative review when they submit the application to RGO by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, February 18, 2009. The grant will be returned to the PI within 2-3 business days with comments, after which the PI must again click the submit button by the final 5:00 pm EST Monday, March 2 deadline.

(Note: Grants that are submitted on the day of the deadline – Monday, March 2, 2009 – will not be reviewed by RGO and will be submitted to CIHR as they are received).

STEP 3:
Original signature pages (hard copies) are not sent to CIHR, but kept on file at RGO.  Signature pages must be received by the Associate Dean (Research) Office in the Faculty of Medicine or by RGO for all other faculties before RGO will submit a grant to CIHR.

Please do not forgot:

- Obtain all co-applicant signatures
- If a co-applicant is at a separate Institution Paid (including McGill affiliates) CIHR requires an institutional signature from the co-sponsoring institution
- Facsimiles of these signatures are acceptable

RGO also requests that PIs complete and duly sign the RGO Checklist:  www.mcgill.ca/rgo/checklists/rgo/.

STEP 4:
The final deadline to electronically submit the grant application to RGO for submission to CIHR is 5:00 pm EST on Monday, March 2, 2009.  Important:  After this time, you will not be able to submit the grant.
