Alcohol consumption linked to increased cancer risk

Heavy drinkers of beer and spirits have significantly higher risks of developing multiple cancers, a Montreal study by a group of epidemiologists and cancer researchers shows. “For the most part we showed that light drinkers were less affected or not affected at all,” lead authorAndrea Benedetti, a researcher at McGill said in a statement. “It is people who drink every day or multiple times a day who are at risk.”
