Training the New Generation of Humanitarians: 2014 Disaster and Humanitarian Response Program

Established in 2009, the McGill Humanitarian Studies Initiative (HSI) is an exciting multi-disciplinary program, which provides a comprehensive training in humanitarian issues, and essential competencies that best prepare interested participants for field work.


  •  Learn the globally recognized core humanitarian competencies and participate in a Disaster Simulation
  •  Attend lectures given by world experts and founding members of the Humanitarian Studies Initiative, including professors from McGill, Harvard and Tufts Universities
  •  Become a recognized, certified member of our community of professional humanitarians.


The course will take place in Montreal from January 8th to April 22nd

Classes are on Wednesday evenings from 18h00 to 22h00

3-Day Simulation exercise taking place in May of 2014 in the Montreal area
