I Medici di McGill Orchestra of the McGill Faculty of Medicine, directed by Gilles Auger, invites you to a concert of the works of Schubert, Bruch, and Mozart featuring the solo viola playing of Isaac Chalk and Martha DiFrancisco as 27th lecturer in the I Medici's series on Biology of Music.

Born in Quebec City, Gilles Auger is a graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School of Music (New-York) and a student of the late Leonard Bernstein. He is currently a conductor and teacher at the Quebec’s Conservatory and music director of the Lévis Symphony orchestra.

Canadian violist, Isaac Chalk, is a graduate of McGill University, where he was a recipient of many awards including the prestigious Golden Violin Award, the largest privately funded music scholarship in Canada. Mr. Chalk is Principal Viola for les Violons du Roy.

An acknowledged leader in the field of sound recording and a pioneer in digital recording, Martha DeFrancisco is Associate Professor at the McGill Schulich School of Music. She is a graduate of the Tonmeister program at the Muskhochschule Detmold in Germany, and previously worked as a producer/engineer/editor for Philips Classics.  Martha is a frequent lecturer at international professional conferences.
