Rita L. Irwin is a Distinguished University Scholar and Professor of Art Education with the University of British Columbia's Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy, Faculty of Education.  While her research interests include arts teacher education, artist-in-schools programs, and socio-cultural issues, she is best known for her work in expanding how we might imagine and conduct arts practice based research methodologies (including a/r/tography) through self-studies as well as collaborative community based collectives.
