Wang Canfa, professor of environmental law at the China University of Political Science and Law and the founding director of the Center of Legal Assistance for Pollution Victims (CLAPV), is one of China’s leading environmentalists. His passion for environmental protection plays itself out in the daily effort to help ordinary Chinese citizens who have been victimized by the country’s fast industrialization and rapid economic growth.  His tireless efforts and CLAPV’s numerous successes have earned Dr. Wang worldwide attention, and his inclusion in Time Magazine’s list of the world’s top 50 “Heroes of the Environment” for 2007.
