Mini-Beatty Lecture: Carlos Monsiváis - "The Other North America"

Carlos Monsiváis is Mexico's leading cultural critic and Mexico City's greatest living chronicler. He has written extensively and in evocative journalistic detail about Mexican history, culture and politics. This public lecture is the opening event of the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada's annual conference, "Are We American? Canadian Culture in North America," that will be held from February 13-15. RSVPs for the lecture are encouraged (see below).
