McGill on the Move: Lecture with Margaret Somerville

Tuesday, April 24, 2007 18:00
Confederation Place Hotel, 237 Ontario St., Kingston, Confederation Place Hotel, 237 Ontario St., Kingston, CA
How should we use the new tools of technoscience? For example, should we genetically "enhance" our children? Is it acceptable to create a baby from artificial sperm and ova, or for a child to be the genetic progeny of two women or two men? What about extending the human lifespan to 150 years? Somerville, one of the world's noted ethicists, will discuss the complex issues surrounding our ability to alter human DNA -- and perhaps even human nature itself. $37.50 (reception with cash bar)
