McGill Mentor Program Panel and Reception
Come hear from both mentors and mentees as to why you should join the Mentor Program. 2 mentors and 2 mentees will speak about their experiences with the program. Following the panel discussion, join us for a reception and take advantage of this networking opportunity.
Panelists:
Leon Mwotia: Leon graduated
from McGill in 2007 with a BA in Political Science and IDS and then
decided to make the leap into the finance industry. He was matched
with an investment analyst through the McGill Mentor Program and
has since gone on to become an Account Manager at the Royal Bank of
Canada. His mentee, Carlton Lai, is a Management student focusing
on finance, with a strong interest in a career in banking.
Karis Shearer: Karis graduated from McGill in 2003 with a BA in
English and Canadian Studies. She went on to do a Master's and a
PhD at the University of Western Ontario and is currently a
postdoctoral fellow at McGill, where she teaches Canadian
literature. She has also edited and written extensively in her
field and is currently working on a manuscript about postmodern
cultural workers and the Canadian long poem. Her mentee, Karen
Dubois, is an English Literature student interested in both writing
and teaching.
