Legal Theory Workshop: The Meaning of Constitutionalism in a Globalized World

Wednesday, March 18, 2015 13:00to14:30
Chancellor Day Hall NCDH 202, 3644 rue Peel, Montreal, QC, H3A 1W9, CA

Legal Theory Workshop with Poul F. Kjaer of the Copenhagen Business School. His talk will draw from his latest book, Constitutionalism in the Global Realm: A Sociological Approach, which looks at the ways in which national and transnational legal forms have evolved alongside one another and demonstrates that the formation of global constitutions has not resulted in a corresponding decrease in the power of nation states, but instead, legal and political aspects of both the nation state and the transnational have been reconfigured and intensified in a mutually supportive manner.
