LARS Workshop: Communicating your Research on Video (for McGill Professors)

Wednesday, May 14, 2014 09:00to12:00

Linking Action and Research on Sustainability (LARS) is a new science communication initiative developed in collaboration with professors Elena Bennett and Catherine Potvin. LARS aims to provide visibility for McGill scholars who are working on positive contributions/solutions to sustainability related problems. Our goal is to help McGill scholars to engage in outreach and share their work with a broader audience, through various training events and opportunities to participate in existing outreach activities. Through this work, we aim to emphasize how McGill researchers are contributing to a sustainable McGill, Canada, and World.

Our first event will be a workshop for McGill professors on "Communicating your Research on Video", led by Dr. Catherine Potvin and Camilo Florez (video post production specialist). Catherine has created dozens of videos profiling her research as part of the McGill at Work/au Travail initiative, and will share how to simply and effectively communicate your work to a broader audience using video, as well as the benefits of doing so.

Event details: Wednesday, May 14th from 9:00-12:00 in the Thomson House ballroom. A light lunch will be provided after the workshop to allow participants to mingle, and to learn more about the LARS project.

Please RSVP to carly.ziter [at] mail.mcgill.ca.
