This presentation will examine general principles of trade-mark law and how these principles are applied when rights are claimed in trade-marks having a religious connotation or when it is alleged that they contain “sacred” matter and should therefore not be monopolized.

Inaugurated in 2001, the Léger Robic Richard Seminar Series in Intellectual Property is an annual series of workshops that provides a forum for leading academics and practitioners to gather and discuss topics of interests in the field of intellectual property and technology law.
