KABIR: Word, Sound, and Image

The Faculty of Religious Studies, in partnership with the Kabir Cultural Centre of Montreal, is pleased to host a special three-day event celebrating and remembering Kabir, the enigmatic 15th century poet of South Asia.

Thursday, March 12 at 6 pm: Film screening, followed by a Q&A, "Had Anhad: Journeys with Ram & Kabir" by filmmaker Shabnam Virmani. Event open to the public.

Friday, March 13 at 4:30 pm: Panel discussion on Kabir featuring Ms. Virmani, and Professors Linda Hess (Stanford) and Sajida Alvi (McGill). Event open to the public.

Saturday, March 14 at 7:30 pm: Musical performance, "In Quest of Kabir," by renowned Kabir folk singer Prahlad Singh Tipanya and Group. New Residence Hall (3625 Parc), Ballroom. Admission: $20 (Adults) and $15 (Student/Senior), with group discounts available.  Tickets may be purchased by contacting the Kabir Cultural Centre: (514) 695-3264.
