Phil Bailey from SeCan will be discussing the steps and costs involved with developing a new cereal variety in Canada. He will highlight the different roles involved in this process from breeding institution, plant breeder, research technician, to marketing the finished variety.
Philippe Lemaitre from Prograin will be presenting information about Prograin and their impact locally, in Canada, and internationally. He is a graduate from Macdonald Campus of the weed scien ce department, and has worked at Prograin for 17 years.
He will also be discussing what type of student they are looking for permanent work.
Philippe Charlebois from Semican is the Sales Manager in the Biotal Division of Semican. He will be talking about Biotal’s implication in forage inoculants and their partnership with Biotal(Lallemand). He will also introduce the company, their involvement in seed research and their international department.
