Michael Cowan teaches in the German Studies Department at McGill University. His research examines the intersections between film, literature, science and the history of the body in the German speaking world.
Recent publications include Cult of the Will: Nervousness and German Modernity (2008), Rhythm and Body in Weimar Cinema and Fritz Lang's Metropolis (2007) and Images without a Cameraman: Remaking the Weimar City Film in Harun Farocki (forthcoming).
