Invitation to an afternoon of celebration to inaugurate a new cross-disciplinary initiative at McGill

The Institute for the Public Life of Arts and Ideas (IPLAI) is a new undertaking that reflects McGill’s commitment to the humanities and is dedicated to advancing humanities-based teaching and research in innovative and interdisciplinary ways.

Students, faculty, staff and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend.

12:30 pm Roundtable on the Humanities, the University, and the Public Good

5:30 pm Keynote address by Lewis Hyde, noted poet and philosopher, author of  The Gift and Trickster Makes this World.
