Information Session: FRQSC’s Start‐Up Program for New Research Professors

The purpose of the FRQSC’s Start‐Up Program for New Research Professors is to assist researchers who have just launched their careers to become established as independent researchers, and also more competitive nationally and internationally.

New researchers in social sciences and humanities, arts and literature who are planning to  apply to the upcoming FRQSC fall 2016 competition are encouraged to attend this information session, which will include:

·        A brief presentation about the objectives and application requirements of the Start-Up Program for New Research Professors by Lauren Clark, Grants Officer, Social Sciences and Humanities;

·        a presentation from Prof. David Schumacher (Desautels Faculty of Management), who will share his experience as a grant awardee under this program and strategies for creating a successful proposal;

·        question and answer period where participants will be encouraged to raise any questions they may have about the program or the application process. Those who are unable to attend or who may not feel comfortable sharing their questions are invited to send their inquiries to Lauren Clark (ext. 4880) or Joanna Mastalerek (ext. 7300) in advance so that they may be included in the session.
