The Health Impact Fund: Pharmaceutical Innovation also for the Poor. 33rd annual Osler Lecture, delivered by Dr Thomas Pogge

Dr Thomas Pogge, Leitner Professor of Philosophy and International Affairs at Yale University, will deliver the 33rd annual Osler Lecture on Wednesday, November 4, 2009.
Dr Pogge’s extensive writings on political philosophy, cosmopolitanism and global justice examine such specific issues as extreme poverty and the basis of our responsibility to eradicate it. He is co-editor of Freedom from Poverty as a Human Right: Who Owes What to the Very Poor? and Real World Justice. Branching out from this wider topic are many domains of immediate interest to the medical community, notably on the moral and social basis of “medical justice.” His recent work (in collaboration with Aidan Hollis of the University of Calgary) on pharmaceutical research and global access to medicine is distilled in The Health Impact Fund: Making New Medicine Accessible for All. Dr Pogge's Yale web site has more information on his work on health care and social justice.
