GIS Day

November 14, 2012, is the international GIS Day. For the occasion, the Geographic Information Centre will be hosting a series of activities. The GIC is a new centre recently opened as part of the Geography Department at McGill to answer geographical information system and remote sensing needs from the McGill community. We are located on the fifth floor of Burnside Hall. Come see us or email us at GICsupport [at] mcgill.ca if you have any questions concerning  GIS and Remote Sensing.

GIS day will be divided in four parts: a discovering GIS activity,  a poster session presenting work in GIS and Remote Sensing from student at McGill, a series of talks including our keynote lecture by George Leblanc of National Research Council Canada – Flight Research laboratory, and a wine and cheese to celebrate the official opening of the centre. These activities will all take place between 12:30 and 6:00pm in various location in Burnside Hall. Open to all.
