The future of Afghanistan

Noted Afghan specialist Dr. Larry P. Goodson, General Dwight D. Eisenhower Chair of National Security, U.S. Army War College, offers an assessment of Afghanistan's future in light of its underlying cultural, economic, ethnic and political characteristics; progress (and/or the lack thereof) on the major pillars of nation-building undertaken in that country since Sept. 11, 2001; and the regional geopolitical pressures on Afghanistan.
