CWOQ - Class 1A: The Grow Home: Thinking Outside the Box about Homes and Communities

Thursday, September 30, 2010 14:30to16:00
In 1990, McGill's School of Architecture built a 14-foot-wide townhouse on the downtown campus. The design suggested that affordability can be achieved by constructing smaller dwellings and leaving a portion of them unpartitioned for buyers to complete. The home was quickly adopted by private builders and thousands were built across North America at half the going cost.
