CWOQ: Ape or angel: Biological evolution in a religious culture

Biological evolution is a scientific fact and the fundamental concept of all life sciences. Nevertheless, national polls indicate that 50 percent of Canadians and Americans reject evolutionary science. The cause of the fear and rejection of evolution appears to be a synergism of religious illiteracy, powerful North American anti-evolution forces, scientific illiteracy in general and evolution misunderstanding in particular.
