Conference: "Representations of Human Sacrifice. A cross-cultural Approach"

Saturday, November 8, 2008
Thomson House 3650 rue McTavish, Montreal, QC, H3A 1Y2, CA
The study of human sacrifice confronts scholars to an imaginary of disgust and fascination, loathing and fantasies accumulated over many centuries of textual and visual representation – traditions still alive to this day. This round table event proposes to revisit the study of human sacrifice through approaches grounded in cultural history, anthropology, and histoire des mentalités.
