McGill Community for Lifelong Learning (MCLL) Lecture

Lecturer: Timmy Cohen

Time: April 25, 1:00 pm

Scenes of Aix-en-Provence and nearby Mont Sainte Victoire where Cézanne lived, worked and died, are immortalized in his paintings.  Hear about Cézanne's artistic development, from his early childhood and his friendship with Emile Zola, to his encounter with the Impressionists. Learn why  he was the forerunner of modern painting and, according to Picasso "The Father of us all". This lecture will include a short, beautifully filmed documentary, about the man, the artist and the myth.
