ECOLE would like to invite you to join their celebratory final event of the academic year, Budding Ideas:  Celebrating Community Research!   They are enthused to be wrapping up our pilot year and are eager to share all of the lessons we've learned over the past few months.  With the impending creation of the ECOLE Project Fund via SSMU following a successful referendum question, they are looking to the future of ECOLE as a student-run research institute for sustainability... and want to celebrate!

Join ECOLE for an evening of workshops, panel discussions, applied student research presentations, and celebration, Friday April 10th from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the ECOLE House (3559 rue University)!

·  3 - 4 p.m.:  Concurrent Workshops
·  Applied Student Research:  ASR is becoming a huge force on campus, bringing students, faculty, and community groups together to harness the power of research for social and environmental change.  This workshop will discuss the values and principles behind ASR and the ways to get your own project started at McGill!
·  History of ECOLE:  Though it's only our first year in our current home, the ECOLE Project has been in the works since 2012.  Learn about the roots of the project and its progression over the past few years from past coordinators and working group members.

·  4:30 - 5:30 p.m.:  Panel Discussion + Q&A with the ECOLE Facilitators
o Curious about what it's been like being part of a living laboratory and fledgling project?  The ECOLE Facilitators will be sharing their highlights, lowlights, and lessons learned from their time living at the ECOLE House.

·  6 - 7:30 p.m.: Dinner & Applied Student Research Presentations
o This year has brought some amazing student research to the forefront!  Join us for presentations from the ECOLE Facilitators and members of the ASR Collaborative (formerly known as the M(X)Ps) about their outstanding projects on a wide array of topics, from the realities of queer and trans prisoners in Québec to collective decision-making around energy use to reimagining space within the university!

Dinner and drinks will be served, and there will be whisper translation and childcare available.  Accessibility information for the ECOLE house is availble at www.ecoleproject.org/accessibility. If you have questions, access needs, or ideas, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at ecoleproject [at] gmail [dot] com.   Please feel free to invite your friends and colleagues, and we hope to see you there!
