The Apology of Socrates

Monday, February 18, 2008 17:00
Chancellor Day Hall 3644 rue Peel, Montreal, QC, H3A 1W9, CA
Professor Steven Wexler, Faculty of Law, UBC, will perform his own translation of Plato's "Apology." Prof. Wexler is an established scholar of classical Greek legal concepts and this performance represents the culmination of much of his work. (The) Apology (of Socrates) is Plato's version of the speech given by Socrates as he defends himself against the charges of being a man "who corrupted the young, did not believe in the gods, and created new deities."
