The 2009 edition of the ABC Awards Ball for The Children’s: A return to Motown, to lead us into the future

What better than a look to the past, as we move towards the future? The organizing committee of the 2009 ABC Awards Ball, set to take place Thursday, May 28 at Windsor Station, chose to raise funds for the new MCH with a Motown-themed celebration. This year, the funds raised at the ABC Awards Ball for The Children’s will be entirely dedicated to The Best Care for Children capital campaign for the new Montreal Children’s Hospital, construction of which is set to begin in 2010.

Ms. Marianna Simeone of CBC News at Six, who has lent her name and talent to this very special event for many years, returns to preside over the Awards of Excellence Ceremony, set to take place at the beginning of the evening. The entertainment portion of the evening will once again be hosted by Ms. Chantal Lamarre, actress and television host who regularly graces the small screen, notably in “Caméra Café”, and the mini-series “Virginie”. This time around, Chantal Lamarre will be joined onstage by Aaron Rand, well-known host of Montreal radio station Q92. Singers Meredith Marshall and Nikki Yanofsky will also be present.
