2008 Bar Prize Moot

Thursday, April 3, 2008 17:00to18:30
Chancellor Day Hall 3644 rue Peel, Montreal, QC, H3A 1W9, CA
Thanks to the generous support of the Montreal and Quebec Bar Associations, the Bar Prize Moot has become an annual end-of-year tradition at the Faculty of Law. Four of this year's top oralists will plead an appeal before the Honourable Madam Justice Bich of the Court of Appeal, the Honourable Mr. Justice Silcoff of the Superior Court, and the Honourable Mr. Justice Cameron of the Court of Quebec. The mooters will debate the problem from last year's Mignault Competition. They will discuss the legal implications for parents or tutors who use their child's inheritance money without judicial authorization. The same case will form the subject matter of the competitive moot run-offs to be held on April 7 and 8, and therefore all candidates for a position on one of next year's moot teams are strongly encouraged to attend.
