What were Canadian children reading in their homes and schools?  This exhibition helps answer this question by providing a sampling of the books being read in eastern Canadian towns and villages during a one hundred year period, beginning in the 1830s.  Items on display include a selection of children’s literature, school primers and textbooks written by Canadian authors or published in Canada.  There are delights for the eye and puzzles for the mind and something for everyone!
